Anyone can post a status update, share a photo and use a hashtag, which is actually part of the "marketing" problem! Relying on the simplicity of a post can be a great thing, but if your backlinked, hashtags and uploaded images are of no relation to your brand, good luck on translating those clicks and views into revenue.
Try to think of your social presence as your only opportunity to explain your business. Likewise, all subsequent posts should support the previous (as well as your brand message and mission). Every time you methodically post (not doing that yet? We should chat!), think of which brand strategy you are using. While they can vary in topic, the intent is to be cohesive! Here are the three main strategies to be mindful of before hitting "Share":
BRAND AWARENESS
Engaging posts, touch points and calls to action will significantly increase interaction between the brand and its current, past and future clients.
BRAND ENGAGEMENT
Brand engagement can only succeed through awareness. Increased awareness can be accomplished by encouraging your target audience to remember you when it comes to their needs!
BRAND MAINTENANCE
Whether on social media, your website or at your brick and mortar location, management of your reputation is critical. In order to successfully increase engagement and promote awareness while becoming a thought leader, all points of communication must be constantly and consistently updated and maintained. Search Engine Optimization is only as good as the quality and quantity of updates provided by your content.
